So, what exactly is sustainable procurement? ISO 20400:2017, the international standard for sustainable procurement defines it as:

Procurement that has the most positive environmental, social and economic impacts possible across the entire lifecycle and that strives to minimise adverse impacts. It is a powerful instrument when organisations consider sustainability requirements and its own contribution to sustainable development.
